Lodzkie Region

Lodzkie Region is a regional self-governing community and relevant territory located in central Poland. Represents the highest level of administrative sub-division of Poland and is responsible for creating and implementing regional policies, including management of European Union funding.

As a regional government it is also a legal entity.

In 2013 Lodzkie Region developed the Regional Innovation Strategy (LORIS2030) where key smart specialisations of the region were identified. Among the main ones, one of the most important is medical and pharmaceutical industry, as well as IT industry. Moreover innovative agriculture and food processing, green energy, textile industry and biotechnology were indicated as the most important sectors and technologies for region’s growth.

The vision of development of the region is defined in the Development Strategy for Lodzkie Region 2030 and it reflects the desired state of the Lodzkie Region in the perspective of 2030, with respect to three strategic dimensions of development, i.e. economic, social and spatial and has been formulated as: a harmoniously developing region in the center of Poland, friendly to families, residents of cities and rural areas; a region where modern economy goes hand in hand with the protection of cultural and natural values.

Role in the project

Lodzkie Region will participate in all WPs and will collaborate to the polish pilot design, planning and implementation.

As a partner will also support recruitment with direct interaction with medical and social care units in the region.

Moreover will play a role in the dissemination of the project results.
