University of Genova
The University of Genova (UNIGE), established in 1481, stands as one of Europe's oldest and largest educational institutions.
Presently, it offers 280 educational programs at its main campus in Genova and satellite locations across five cities in the Liguria region (Imperia, Savona, La Spezia, Chiavari, and Pietra Ligure).
With over 1300 faculty members across 23 departments, UNIGE is organised into five Schools, encompassing Natural Sciences, Medical Sciences, Engineering, Social Sciences, and Humanities. Since 2013, the "Interdepartmental Center for Longevity and Active Ageing" (CILIA) has been established within the University's framework, specifically under the Department of Internal Medicine and Medical Specialties (DIMI).
Rooted in a rich tradition of teaching Ars Medica in Liguria, DIMI not only provides cutting-edge clinical practice but also stands out for its substantial research in basic and clinical sciences. CILIA is a collaborative center comprising 13 faculties from various disciplines, such as health sciences, social sciences, economics, engineering, environmental sciences, and architecture, within UNIGE.
Additionally, the support from the Department of Neurosciences, Rehabilitation, Ophthalmology, Genetics, Maternal and Child Health (DINOGMI) contributes significant research, clinical, and didactic expertise. The diverse expertise of the center's members ensures a multidisciplinary approach to the study of active and healthy ageing.
Role in the project
UNIGE is responsible for delivering the Italian pilot course for ‘Specialist in CBIT for person-centered care’ in collaboration with ‘Alisa’ and will be the first among the four European countries involved in TEAMCARE (Irland, Greece, Poland, and Italy) to deliver the pilot course.
Moreover, during the project UNIGE will assist other partners in the Quality Assessment of the project tasks and will provide research methodological support in collecting evidence of skills needs and good practices
